While organic supermarkets like Lucky’s and EarthFare are taking serious hits and shutting down multiple locations throughout the state of Florida, the Publix chain is thriving.
From a new(ish) line of merch, to revamping its InstaCart app for speedy online orders and Pub sub deliveries, the grocery store giant is piling up wins and looking to add a few more shops in Tampa Bay. The next location on the list—opening in the next few weeks—is stationed at 4900 W. Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa's Westshore district. Tampa Bay Business Journal confirmed the Feb. 27 opening date with a Publix spokesman.
In August, Publix launched a new location in downtown’s Channel district at 1105 E. Twiggs St., and another downtown Tampa Greenwise Market is slated to open in 2021. Although it looks like the Tampa will soon be flooded with more green signs—which may edge out smaller grocery stores—we can't help but just think about the abundance of chicken tender subs.
