Looks like local foodies have another restaurant to add to their list for takeout. Oronzo Honest Italian opened this month and has been slinging pizza, pasta, bowls and even burritos ever since. The fast-casual restaurant set up shop at 18027 Highwood Preserve Parkway in the West Meadows area of New Tampa.
Oronzo specializes in made-from-scratch recipes with origins dating back to the 1800s in Rimini, Italy, a city on the Adriatic coast in the Emilia-Romagna region. That means homemade pasta while incorporating options for all dietary preferences like gluten-free zucchini noodles and vegan options.
The loaded menu also features Italian soups, salads, and hand-rolled meatballs. The line-up of ‘zas come on roman-style flatbreads, which gives Tampa Bay a little switch up from the NY-style pie craze. Oh, and a piadina—which or Oronzo is billing as an Italian burrito—is on the menu. The menu item—which is a new take on traditional piadinas that look like flat snados—comes in different varieties including the Chick Parm stuffed with homemade spaghetti, crispy baked chicken, fresh mozzarella, parmesan, with choice of sauce antico pomodoro, crema or butter and extra virgin olive oil.

Oronzo is jus one of a handful of new Bay area Italian spots (hi, DeVito's Italian Specialties, Olivia, Rocca and forthcoming Santelli Pizza and Pasta) to open in 2020.
