When it comes to Xtreme Tacos, Seminole Heights’ gain is South Tampa’s loss.
After a year of serving up its loaded line-up of tacos and burritos in SoHo, Xtreme Tacos is shutting the doors at 223 S. Howard and moving 10 minutes away to a long-under-construction location in Seminole Heights.
The new building at 5609 N. Nebraska Ave. has sported a “coming soon” sign for months, and is finally set to be up and running by early-to-mid-September.
According to a Facebook post, the restaurant was hoping to renew its lease in South Tampa, but, unfortunately, the landlord had other plans for the building.
Xtreme Tacos will still offer its same signature menu and specials in Seminole Heights, with eats for both omnivores and vegans like tostadas, sopes, loaded fries and nachos.
If you have room for dessert, Xtreme also crafts churros stuffed with caramel and Bavarian creme, plus chocolate chunk cookies and tres leches cake slices.
Until then, you can still grab your newborn-sized burritos from Xtreme Tacos’ Soho location and the food truck.
