After six years of business, Pair O' Dice Brewing is shutting down at 4400 118th Ave N. #208 in Clearwater. The brewery took to Facebook to announce the closure:
"What we built nearly 7 years ago now was a dream based on the breweries we fell in love with in California. It was perfect for distribution, which was our focus, and served well as a taproom for the first few years. In 2016 all that changed. Breweries became bars and the rate of brewery openings in Tampa Bay became greater than the rate of consumer adoption of craft beer."
The post went on to mention that the construction near the location has been a massive hindrance on business and proceeded to thank friends, family and customers for their support over the years.
"Today we must admit that we have run out of resources and it’s time to move on[...]Our greatest sadness comes from knowing so many of you met, built friendships, and even got married at Pair O’ Dice Brewing. We enjoyed being a part of your lives and we hope to be able to continue that on the other side of the bar."
The taproom will serve up its last pours through Sunday, December 29. Pair O' Dice urges High Rollers Club members to swing by to pick up their mugs.
Does Pair O' Dice's closure serve as a warning for the new breweries popping up around town? Only time will tell.
