The premiere Florida-based confectioner was founded in 1983 in Jacksonville, and offers a wide selection of European-styled handmade chocolates through a distinctly American experience.
The forthcoming chocolate shop has begun construction at 777 N. Ashley Drive in Skypoint, near the Glazer Children’s Museum and Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.
Very strategic placing for locals with a sweet tooth during a family outing or date night.
Speaking of sweet tooth, let's talk about menu offerings. Peterbrooke is known for decadent truffles, hand-made caramels and cherry cordials. The shop will also be loaded with chocolate covered cookies, pretzels, scratch-made marshmallows, potato chips and strawberries are hand-dipped daily with Peterbrooke’s own proprietary blend of milk, dark and white chocolate.
When it comes to day-to-day operations, Jennifer alongside the couple’s daughters, Drew and Sydney, are making it a true family affair.
“As a former Jacksonville resident and a teacher for nearly a decade, it was my favorite treat to receive Peterbrooke chocolates from my students,” said Jennifer in a release.
“As a mom, I loved visiting Peterbrooke shops to participate in chocolatier camps with my children or to buy gifts. I moved to Tampa Bay in 2013 and missed that quintessential Peterbrooke chocolate experience. When I learned that Peterbrooke wanted to develop in Tampa, I jumped at the chance to become an entrepreneurial small business owner and build our next step in life around the best chocolate I have ever eaten with my daughters by my side.”
According to the release, since signing the agreement as a franchisee in 2019, the Hill family has been active brand ambassadors for Peterbrooke while their shop is currently under construction—donating chocolate covered popcorn to multiple groups including nurses at Tampa General Hospital, to East Lake Middle School teachers for Teacher Appreciation Day and to the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office.
“We are chocolate-loving locals that appreciate our community and plan to give back through our new Downtown Tampa Peterbrooke shop. Because Tampa is a community that thrives when we work together, we know we must do our part to lend a helping hand,” Jennifer said.
A grand opening is scheduled for this fall, complete with a ribbon cutting, prizes and taste testing.
More details to come as construction continues and opening date nears.
Upon opening, hours for the shop are set for 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
