Locals can now sample, learn and see how Pinellas Chocolate Company gets its beans to bars.
The popular chocolate maker, whose finished chocolate bars are made with raw cocoa beans inside its production kitchen, recently opened a retail shop at 10550 72nd St. N. in Largo. The new store allows Pinellas Chocolate to sample its product line in-house, and in addition to experiencing how the chocolate's made, visitors may also purchase single bar and gift sets.
Pinellas Chocolate features seasonal, state-inspired and single-origin dark chocolate bars. Past flavors have included spicy datil pepper, salted lime and peppermint.
The shop plans to introduce specialty items to its shelves, as well as hold events for guests looking to tour the facility or create their own chocolate items.
Store hours are noon to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
