"A new super-cool way to eat" is how a newcomer called Pizza Cones has billed itself before its Safety Harbor debut. The downtown restaurant's grand opening, featuring live music and entertainment for kids, is scheduled to begin at noon April 1.
Cone-shaped pizza crust stuffed with cheese and other beloved toppings should be a familiar culinary fusion to Florida State Fair visitors (but, yeah, you could've missed it if you're someone who likes to partake in the fair's more over-the-top creations).
Near the corner of Main Street and Fifth Avenue, Pizza Cones is located at 500 Main St. But it's not the only restaurant slinging pizza in the area. There's Pizzeria Gregario, Safety Harbor Pizzeria and 8th Avenue Pub, though nothing like a pizza cone graces their menus.
