After five years of business, Rae Rae's Cafe, located at 5701 Central Ave. in St. Petersburg, is bowing out.

"To all of our loyal customers, whom all became our family. Today was a sad day as we closed the doors at Rae Rae’s," the restaurant said on Facebook yesterday. "We all had a good 5 years together. Thank you for your patronage laughter and friendship throughout the years."

The cafe served up homemade breakfast and lunch dishes under $10.

The space formerly belonged to Nick's Family Restaurant before Rae Rae's stepped up to offer family-friendly vibes and a neighborhood feel. Sad to see a locally-owned small business shut down.

To get your breakfast and lunch bites on a budget, you can head to other diner-like joints like Trip's or Skyway Jack's
