Remember when CL wrote about mini doughnuts becoming a thing around town? Well, add Remi's Minis to the list. The Riverview doughnut shop has started selling its "mini donut delights" and coffee from a 1963 Airstream trailer.
Opened March 1 at 11267 Winthrop Main St., Remi's is named after owners Ben and Christy Chambless's rescued pit bull, Remi, who experienced severe abuse from whatever human(s) he unfortunately encountered (read the full story). The couple ended up adopting him from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay on Valentine's Day four years ago.
"This was perfectly fitting for such a lovable dog," the shop's "About Us" section reads.
Featuring a menu of bite-size vanilla cake minis, options include classic mashups like cupcake (buttercream and rainbow sprinkles), peanut butter chocolate (chocolate icing, chopped Reese's and peanut butter sauce) and guava (cream cheese and guava). But there are also more adventurous flavors like churro, chocolate Elvis and Samoa.
Patrons place orders of four, eight, 16 or 49 doughnuts, which range from $3 to $34.50, and wash it all down with iced or hot coffee drinks, including lattes, nitro cold brew and ice cream coffee.
Remi's operates 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
