Every March, droves of dessert lovers gather at Rita’s for its First Day of Spring giveaway—where every location across the nation dishes out free Italian ice all day long. Unfortunately, in light of public safety concerns surrounding coronavirus, this annual event has been postponed until further notice.
“Right now, our doors are still open, and we'd love nothing more than to be the pick-me-up that brightens your day and serve up treats that put a smile on your face,” an official statement from Rita’s reads.
Rita’s locations throughout Tampa Bay are open and operating with their normal business hours—but perhaps not for long. The City of Tampa is warning various bars and restaurants that it may mandate restrictions on operating hours or complete closures in the near future.
Grab yourself a cup of signature Italian ice before Rita’s normal operating hours are altered. Keep up with Rita’s on social media like Facebook to be informed on the rescheduled date of its First Day of Spring event.
