Regatta-inspired rum cocktails

From the top of Mount Gay to the tip of Key West.

Several Key West signature cocktails will be showcased at this year’s regatta, which will also featuring Mount Gay Rum’s newest product, Mount Gay Rum Eclipse BLACK. The recipes below are so easy to throw together, that drinking them will be the tedious part:

Black Squall
2 oz. Mount Gay Rum Eclipse BLACK
4 oz. Ginger Beer

Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour all ingredients and stir well. Garnish with a fresh mint sprig.

Total Eclipse
2 oz. Mount Gay Rum Eclipse BLACK
4 oz. Coca-Cola or Pepsi

Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour all ingredients and stir well. Garnish with a slice of lime.

In honor of this week's kick-off to sailing season at the Quantum Key West Regatta, make like a sailor by drinking like one. Now in its 25th year, the regatta has attracted sea dogs from throughout the U.S., enticing them to make the trip to Key West exclusively for the occasion. But since you’re at a computer somewhere in Tampa Bay instead of cruising in style on a sailboat at Quantum Key West, whip up a regatta-inspired cocktail and pretend that's a sea breeze whipping through your hair.
