For eight years, Saint Somewhere has been crafting incredible Belgian-inspired farmhouse ales out of the same production facility in a small industrial park in Tarpon Springs. While the space has also been home to a series of bottle trade events and the like, it's not what you could call an ideal place to really savor Saint Somewhere principal Bob Sylvester's flavors; back when Sylvester started producing his beer, taprooms weren't really en vogue among small production craft breweries, as they are now.
But things change, and now Saint Somewhere is Kickstarting its own crowdfunding drive to help move to a new space — a historic two-story house in downtown Tarpon Springs that will serve as a new production facility and tasting room, as well as an intimate and exclusive two-room mini-lodge.
The tasting room will be in the style of an Old World Belgian beer hall, with an antique bar, tables, classic furnishings and plans for candlelit weekend nights and a small charcuterie selection. The production facility will increase in size from 1,200 to 2,000 square feet, allowing Saint Somewhere to add a foeder (giant wooden long-term fermenting cask) or two, as well as some other new equipment.
Sylvester & Co. are hoping to raise $28,000 by June 12. Click here for more info, and check out Visit Florida's "On Tap" video feature on the brewery below.
