Sam Bitar Day: La Segunda to raise funds for employee's medical expenses

Help support La Segunda baker Sam Bitar on Friday during the Ybor bakery's all-day fundraiser.

Sam Bitar

On Friday, La Segunda Central Bakery plans to host Sam Bitar Day, an all-day benefit event for its employee and baker Sam Bitar, who is suffering from sarcoma.

From open to close, that's 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., 10 percent of every purchase made at the Ybor City bakery will go directly to Bitar. The donations will help pay for his medical expenses during and after chemotherapy.

Those who can't make it out to the fundraiser may support Bitar through GoFundMe as well.
