Downtown St. Pete's Sea Salt will showcase its 12-foot-long oyster bar and wine collection through an educational seminar this weekend.

At noon Saturday, the sophisticated eatery will offer six oysters and a glass of Jean-Charles Boisset No. 21 sparkling wine during a tasting called Oysters and Champagne. The wine hails from Burgundy's C̫te d'Or region.

Dedicated oyster sommelier Brandon Petty — who heads the Sea Salt oyster bar stocked with 15 varieties and a menu that changes daily — will be on hand to answer questions and more.

"Oysters are a lot like wine," Petty says. "It all depends on terroir."

Tickets cost $45 per person, and interested guests should call the restaurant directly to reserve their spots.
