After 10-plus years, Ed Lowery, the ska godfather of Tampa, found his way back to Skipper's Smokehouse as the music-venue-meets-restaurant's new executive chef and kitchen manager.

Lowery first hustled in the Skipper's kitchen when he was starting out in the restaurant industry, according to a newsletter announcement, and he's also worked under The Refinery/Fodder & Shine's Greg Baker.

American fusion is Lowery's specialty, which he will bring to the Skipper's menu that features famed Floribbean items like the grouper Reuben sandwich.
