Smashburger, the Denver-based franchise known for, well, modern smashed burgers, is bringing its latest restaurant to Seminole. Part of the Bardmoor Promenade, the new location at 10801 Starkey Road will premiere during the grand opening between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30.
Franchisee Regrub owns the region's existing Smashburgers in Tampa, Clearwater and Sarasota. Its goal is to open 34 outposts throughout west-central Florida over the next five to six years.
For the uninitiated, Smashburger mixes its signature patties — seasoned and seared on the grill after they're smashed — with a menu of fresh salads, sides like tots and fried pickles, premium shakes and other handhelds (think chicken sandwiches).
Smashburger Seminole's grand opening is open to the public. However, diners interested in attending the invite-only VIP and Media Night event, which kicks off at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, must RSVP online. Both celebrations will offer free samples and family-friendly activities.
If expansion goes according to plan, Smashburger restaurants from Regrub will dot the state, reaching as far south as Naples and then up north to the Ocala-area Villages.
