Next week, veg-conscious organizations and vendors throughout the region are uniting to Veg Out! with CL in Ybor City. The inaugural event, hosted from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 23, is a celebration of all things vegetarian and vegan.
Around CL Space and its courtyard, local wares, beginners' Yoga Loft workshops and guest speakers will be featured. Veg Coach Ellen Jaffe Jones will discuss game plans for cooks on a budget and the Paleo diet's vegan roots, while chef Johan Everstijn of downtown St. Pete's Cider Press Café shares veggie secrets and essential knife skills.
Vegan and vegetarian tastes will be available from purveyors like Naked FitFoods, Whatever Pops, TnT Event Catering, Tree Dog Roots, Cedar's Mediterranean Foods, The Urban Canning Company, Nice 2 B Natural, Squeeze Juice Works and Mother Kombucha. Two beers from Coppertail Brewing Co. — Free Dive and the Belgian pale ale — will also be on hand.
VIP entry is $25 in advance or $30 at the door, and general admission tickets cost $5 (kids ages 12 and under get in free). A portion of the family-friendly event's proceeds will benefit The Edible Peace Patch Project.
