Open since October, Swah-rey, a new dessert bar in downtown St. Pete, has its grand opening planned for 4 to 11 p.m. Friday. The Grand Central District sweets haven is at 2105 Central Ave.

Swah-rey, whose sold out of its dessert stockpile for the day more than once, will have Mayor Rick Kriseman and the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce on site for its ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 alongside a bunch of goodies.

Local beers on draft for $5, prizes and parting gifts will be highlighted, and the first 50 guests will receive complimentary Mini Hook-ups, a Swah-rey signature that's essentially a mini cupcake of your choice nestled above a beverage of your choice. In this case, the free hook-ups will come with Champagne.
