Dog owners, rejoice! St. Pete’s Grand Central District is getting a dog waterpark and full-liquor bar.

As if Tampa Bay’s pups aren’t spoiled enough, Mutts and Martinis, is about to be a sanctuary for both humans and their furry friends. The concept is coming along at 2900 Central Ave. in the space that formerly housed King’s Transmission.

In a recent interview with local blog St. Pete Rising, Natalie Conner plans on launching Mutts and Martinis by next year. Also the owner of Love My Dog Resort and Waterpark with locations in Pinellas Park and St. Petersburg, Conner is making sure Mutts and Martinis is both a safe and pleasurable location for all.

Conner dishes some of the details with the blog, like how the front patio will be laced with a zero-entry splash pool, water sprays, and fountains for dogs to escape the heat. Shade and air-conditioning are available within the indoor space which also hosts a playground for pups as well as a bar for humans to mingle.

If you plan on being a regular, you may be featured on the Doggy Wall of Fame set to host photos of Mutts and Martinis’ guests. Speaking of VIP, the forthcoming dog bar’s PAWship club offers rewards to members like discounted drinks and other deals for members. While all of this sounds pretty sweet, Mutts and Martinis' main focus is the safety of its guests with all leg counts.

“All of our locations are based on safety and supervision,” Conner told the blog. “We will have experienced daycare attendants on-site to maintain a safe, yet enjoyable experience.”

And before you’re able to get your drink on while your pup runs off some energy, you’ll need to provide up-to-date medical records and Fido needs to pass a temperament check before entering. In other words, if your dog is a douche, you’ll have to sit this one out.

More details to come as construction begins and an official opening date is announced.
