A new Florida-Caribbean concept, 'Floribbean,' is quietly coming along in the former Urban Catering & Events space at 2410 Central Ave. in St. Pete.
Floribbean cuisine is a mix of Caribbean and Floridian cooking techniques with an emphasis on fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.
I Love The Burg says Urban Brew & BBQ kitchen manager Sal Merola is working alongside Urban Restaurant Group founder Andy Salyards to launch the fast-casual restaurant. Offering strictly counter service, Floribbean is set to offer up build-your-own-bowl dishes, tropical juices and craft brews.
The post also mentions that the duo hopes to debut the new restaurant by the end of 2019. More details to come when as construction continues and when an official opening date is announced.
