The doors of St. Petersburg’s new community-focused cafe have opened. Part of the Historic Uptown district at 497 Seventh Ave. N., Flatbread & Butter began serving local pastries and cups of specialty coffee across from Round Land earlier this week.

Bandit Coffee Co. supplies the coffee, while the pastries hail from Mana Bakery.

“Tomorrow is our soft opening!” reads a portion of the update Flatbread & Butter posted on its Instagram account Feb. 17. “It feels amazing to see a long-time dream come to reality, bringing quality coffee and food to a community who appreciates the effort & supports local.”

In soft-opening mode for now, Flatbread & Butter has limited hours of operation. But the cafe’s signature item (ahem, flatbreads) — plus beer and wine — will follow by the end of the month, as will an expansion into full hours.

Flatbread & Butter invites the neighborhood to hang out in its cozy digs from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
