St. Petersburg first got the news about the Edge District’s mixed-use development, The Edge Collective, in 2019 (stylized “EDGE”). When it’s all said and done the collective will be home to a hotel, food hall and co-working space spread across a 1.5-acre location.
And now, locals can get a taste until construction begins.
According to a marketing email, the lot at 1246 Central Ave. will be a temporary pop-up market with retail and restaurant spaces. Called the The Edge Collective Urban Market Place, the market will open in two phases:
Phase 1 launches Friday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. with several Super Bowl-themed activities including a celebrity-hosted watch party, live music, and a farmer’s market. There will be two 40-foot containers with curated food and drinks by local chefs and courtyard seating.
A Super Bowl Sunday celebration starts at 11:30 a.m. with brunch and appearance from former NFL players and local radio DJs.
Robert Rivera—managing partner at 305 Hospitality which is collaborating with another South Florida company, Urban Marketplace Development, on the Edge market—told the St. Pete Catalyst that his company has submitted a COVID-19 plan to the city.
