Tampa's Straz Center for the Performing Arts has upped its booze game with SIP. Fashioned inside a retrofitted 1966 Airstream Safari Land Yacht (how cool is that?), the latest bar to launch on the Riverwalk serves various cocktails and a rotating tap list of local craft beer outdoors.
Smoothies, coffee, soft drinks and water are offered, too.
Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 15, locals can give SIP a try, as the bar's debut coincides with opening night for Les Misérables.
"The addition of SIP to our line-up of food and beverage offerings allows us to extend to our guests yet another layer to their performing arts experience," said Javier Rasmussen, general manager of food and beverage, in a statement. "Whether folks are here for a Broadway show, one of our free outdoor community events or just strolling along the Riverwalk, SIP promises to be a casual urban oasis with a stunning view and a cool vibe."
Even better is that SIP keeps the Straz Center's city-approved Riverwalk cups in stock, which are designed for people, like us, who'd like to explore the 2.5-mile trail without compromising alcohol consumption.
SIP operates 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to midnight Friday, 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Weather permitting, of course.
