Tampa Bay's latest panel and networking event, scheduled for later this month, is driven by three women who own and run businesses within the local craft beer scene — not to mention kick ass while doing it.
Combining collaboration, empowerment and community, the inaugural gathering — titled Breaking Barriers in Beer: Women Running the Beer Business — takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. June 20 at Mastry's Brewing Co. in St. Pete Beach.
The featured panelists are Hawthorne Bottle Shoppe co-founder and co-owner Tegan Foster, Cueni Brewing Co. co-owner Bren Cueni, and Mastry's Brewing co-owner and general manager Danie Dahm. The trio are set to spread awareness about the industry to their beer-loving sistren by sharing personal stories and experiences.
Followed by a Q&A and a networking opportunity for attendees, the interactive panel is moderated by The Doyenne, a professional development group supporting women in business. No ticket purchases are required, but why not grab a house pint and stay awhile?
According to Dahm, there's more to women in the beer biz where the upcoming Breaking Barriers in Beer comes from.
"This will be the first of many in a series of women-focused craft beer events in this area," the Mastry's Brewing GM said. "The discussions and relationships formed from planning the 'Breaking Barriers in Beer' event have been stellar, and there is growing interest both within the craft beer scene and beyond."
We'll drink to that.
