Next month, burger enthusiasts will have access to 10 straight days of deals thanks to the return of Tampa Bay Burger Week. From Nov. 5- 15, locals can work their way around a slew of participating restaurants serving up beefy deals.

Take, for example, the Franklin Street special at Butter's Burgers. It's a half-pound black Angus burger, topped with BBQ pulled pork, pork belly, applewood smoked bacon drizzled with Sweet Baby Ray's Barbecue Sauce, and finished off with melted cheddar cheese, served on a kaiser roll for $9.95. You might need to be rolled out of Butter's after that meal.

This year, Creative Loafing Tampa Bay linked up with Florida Beef Council and Feeding Tampa Bay to bring foodies exclusively-priced takeout and dine-in specials on burgers, beer, and more from local restaurants. A poll will decide the best burger in Tampa Bay.

Here's how it works: Each participating restaurant will offer a burger special, plus deals on Funky Buddha beer and more at select locations. A full list of locations and special details, ordering information, a map, social media contest info, and how to vote on Tampa Bay's Ultimate Burger will be available at tampabayburgerweek.com

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Feeding Tampa Bay. The nonprofit is one of the nation’s top hunger relief organizations and a Best of The Bay winner for totally kicking ass when it comes to fighting food insecurity in the community.

CL is currently in search of an Official 2020 Ambassador of Tampa Bay Burger Week presented by Florida Beef Council. Local burger enthusiasts can submit themselves into the running to take home $150 cash plus take over CL's Instagram stories during Burger Week with food photos and videos from their favorite participating locations while reaching CL's more than 59k followers.

Here's how to enter to become the Official 2020 Ambassador of Tampa Bay Burger Week:

  1. Share photos of your favorite local burgers using the hashtag #TampaBayBurgerWeek and don't forget to tag the location.
  2. In the caption, tell CL why you think you deserve the title of Burger Week Ambassador.
  3. Make sure to tag @cltampabay. Winner will be selected by a panel of judges on Monday, November 2nd (winner must be local to the Tampa Bay area).

Those taking advantage of Burger Week specials can share a photo of their Burger Week experience on Instagram to be automatically entered to win gift certificates from select Burger Week restaurants plus $200 in CL Deals.

Here's how to enter that contest:

  1. Snap a photo of your delicious Burger Week burger.
  2. Post your photo on Instagram by adding your location at the participating restaurant. Tag @cltampabay & use the hashtag #TampaBayBurgerWeek
  3. Share your photo to be automatically entered to win. Each location you visit and tag on Instagram automatically gets you an additional entry into the contest.

The winner of Tampa Bay's Ultimate Burger rests on the shoulders of the people. In 2019, Strandhill Public took the title of Tampa Bay's Ultimate Burger. Voting for the 2020 Ultimate Burger begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday, November 5. So make sure to do your research before you cast your vote.

Stay tuned, the entire line-up of participating restaurants is in the works. Until then, do some jumping jacks and make some room to sample burgers from around Tampa Bay. You and your waistline have been warned.
