With sports back and Super Bowl LV on the horizon (Feb. 7), the Business Connect program is hosting “Road to Gameday” Restaurant Week.

The Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee, a private, nonprofit 501 (c)(6), represents local community leaders in business, tourism, sports, entertainment, and government and serves as the direct liaison to the National Football League for the region’s collective hosting effort.

If you’re not aware, Tampa is hosting Super Bowl 55 next year, which means the celebration will be crazier than ever for football fans.

But before the excitement of the big game begins, Road to Gameday Restaurant Week will highlight 50 diverse-owned restaurants in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco County from Dec. 4-13.

Restaurants must meet the following minimum criteria and complete the application process to be considered for participation in Super Bowl LV “Road to Gameday” Restaurant Week. If you're a restaurateur want in on the Road To Gameday Restaurant Week, the criteria for participating restaurants is as follows:

  1. Restaurant must be 51% women, minority, veteran, or LGBTQ+ owned businesses AND be located in Hillsborough, Pinellas, or Pasco County.
  2. The restaurant must have positive reviews and high satisfaction levels from the public on dining review sites (i.e. Yelp, TripAdvisor, Google, etc.).
  3. Restaurant’s primary revenue must be derived from dining, not entertainment or other amenities.
  4. Restaurant must offer full-service dining at least five nights per week.
  5. Restaurant must complete the application process to be considered for inclusion into the program, including submitting sample prix-fixe menus.

A portion of the proceeds ($1 per meal) from the restaurant week extravaganza will be donated to Feeding Tampa Bay in support of the fight against food insecurity in the community.
