Everyday is Taco Tuesday during Tampa Bay Taco Takeover, when Creative Loafing Tampa Bay joins Homeless Empowerment Program (HEP) and over 15 local restaurants to bring the Bay area dine-in and takeout specials on Corona, Topo Chico Hard Seltzer, and, of course, tacos.

The takeover happens Tuesday, April 20 through Tuesday, May 4—basically a two-week Cinco De Mayo pregame for a good cause. (Some of the participating restaurants are even extending the specials to May 5.)

A portion of the proceeds will benefit HEP which provides low-income families and individuals housing, food, clothing and other support that helps gain self-sufficiency and improve their overall quality of life.

During the takeover, you’ll get to vote and decide who wins the coveted title of Tampa Bay’s Ultimate Taco. (Taco Bus took home the gold in 2020.)

CL is also looking for the Official 2021 Ambassador of Tampa Bay Taco Takeover which grants the winner $150 cash and CL’s Instagram takeover during the event. To enter share on IG photos of your favorite local taco spots using the hashtag #TampaBayTacoTakeover, tagging the location. Tell us why you deserve the title and don’t forget to tag @cltampabay. An ambassador will be chosen Monday, April 5.

Even if you don’t win the Ambassador title, keep sharing because any photo you post of the Taco Takeover specials, with the above hashtag and tag, automatically enters you to win gift certificates and CL deals.

Visit any of the locations below and ask for the Taco Takeover specials.
