Weekend Platter: Super Greek Festival, Sip & Stroll (or shop) and more

Wondering how to spend the weekend with a loaded supply of food and drink? CL's got you.

Five solid options for locals tryna get down with food and drink throughout the weekend.

The eats, music and culture of Greece hit Tampa Bay during the annual Super Greek Festival, which kicks off at 11 a.m. Friday and runs through 6 p.m. Sunday. Homestyle specialties like freshly sliced gyros (everything from beef and lamb to pork from the streets of Athens), souvlaki, flaming Greek cheese, moussaka, baklava, pastitsio, and Greek honey puffs are highlights on the food side. The three-day, indoor-outdoor fest at St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church goes down rain or shine. $5 for unlimited-entry weekend pass; $3 for day pass; free for active military, law enforcement, kids under 12 & seniors over 75. 3600 76th St. N., St. Petersburg, 727-345-8235.

In its inaugural year, I Love the Burg's Winter Whiskeyfest brings more than 12 kinds of whiskey from St. Pete and out-of-town distilleries to the elegant La Florida ballroom of Red Mesa Events from 6 to 9 p.m., alongside complimentary bites from chef Chris Fernandez and live tunes. Participating whiskey purveyors include WhistlePig, American Freedom Distillery, Kozuba & Sons Distillery, Michter's and Elijah Craig. Tickets, available online, are limited, and a portion of the proceeds benefits Metro Wellness. $75. 128 Third St. S., St. Petersburg.

Rock 'n' roll, people. That's the focus of the National Flannel Day celebration at Hawthorne Bottle Shoppe, hosted on Saturday between 4 and 11 p.m. Expect grunge-inspired taps from four local beer makers: 7venth Sun Brewery (a chocolate and chili pepper milk stout and a jammy table saison, among others), Calusa Brewing, Hidden Springs Ale Works (a strawberry shortcake-inspired kettle sour), and J. Wakefield Brewing. The only decision you really gotta make? Which flannel shirt to wear in honor of the holiday. Free, money for beer. 2927 Central Ave. St. Petersburg, 727-800-2810.

The same quarterly shindig, with a Valentine's Day twist. From noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sip & Stroll takes participants on a walk to 20-plus restaurants, boutiques and bars in the EDGE District for themed drinks, which are enjoyed in between the free treasure hunt: Cupid's Quest. The winner of the game — accessed through the EDGE mobile app, where specials and discounts for attendees are also found — scores a basket of gifts valued at more than $500. Advanced tickets are up online. $15. Corner of 11th Street and Central Avenue, St. Petersburg.

A popular sip-and-shop event, the annual Wine & Chocolate Festival on Sunday complements 75 vino selections with an array of gourmet chocolates, cheese and desserts — just in time for V-Day. Guests looking to shop their hearts out, starting at 4 p.m., can take advantage of a 25 percent discount on any wines, baskets or holiday items purchased throughout the fest; complimentary gift bags and tissue are on hand. Admission can be purchased online in advance, as well as in person from the Ybor City Wine Bar's Centro Ybor and Seminole Heights locations. $45. 1600 E. Eighth Ave., Tampa, 813-999-4966.
