Tampa gets Vietnamese restaurant specializing in tofu, subs

Vietnamese and other Asian specialties are churning out of Thinh An Kitchen & Tofu's kitchen.

Fresh tofu and baked subs, among other items, are specialties at a newly launched restaurant in Tampa.

Thinh An Kitchen & Tofu opened its doors this weekend at 8104 W. Waters Ave. Driven by Vietnamese eats and other Asian delicacies, the menu highlights a varied selection of everything from bánh mì to congee soup to desserts (including Thai-style pudding with fresh durian).

Bread for the Vietnamese sandwiches is made in-house daily, and the family-run restaurant's tofu talents are worked into offerings like veggie and tofu egg noodle soup, vegetarian broken rice and vegetarian fresh rolls.

On the beverage side, the lineup boasts several smoothies with boba — mung bean, taro  and avocado flavors among them — as well as milk teas, "slush" drinks and shaken fruit teas.
