Locals who frequent the Tampa Riverwalk have likely seen the banner up for Remedy.
Just off Kiley Garden in downtown’s Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and neighbors with Malio’s Prime Steakhouse at Rivergate Tower, the coming-soon food and drink hangout at 400 N. Ashley Drive is set to serve specialty cocktails, raw bar selections and… artisan flatbreads?
Remedy’s menu plans may seem like a weird mashup at first. But when one considers the allure of flatbreads is that they’re easy eating and topped with gourmet ingredients (which used to distinguish them from pizza, though that’s not really the case anymore) — not to mention they have a “healthy” perception — bringing them together with a classic raw bar and thoughtfully made drinks kinda makes sense.
Even more so after a glimpse of this rendering:
By the looks of it, Remedy is meant to be a stylish, sophisticated gathering place that offers unobstructed sights of everything from the bustling Riverwalk and Hillsborough River to the University of Tampa.
“Coming to the Riverwalk,” reads a portion of the newcomer’s website. “A truly fashionable venue to sip craft cocktails and drink in Downtown Tampa’s most inspiring views. Where you can share appetizing creations, lively conversation and a deep connection to the allure of the city.”
And, so far, the cocktails Remedy has shared on its Facebook page sound promising. The elderflower tequila spritz, for example, is a mix of Patrón Silver, St-Germain, grapefruit juice and prosecco, while the signature raspberry mule features Tito’s Vodka, raspberry purée, fresh lime juice and ginger beer.
We’ll take one of each, please.
