Davis Islands residents can finally ride their golf carts over to Bake’n Babes once its new storefront opens in The Villages at 231 E Davis Blvd.

Last year—after announcing a move out of Tampa Heights’ since-shuttered Hall on Franklin—owner Julie Curry teased about looking for a home “with a little more space to grow,” and it looks like she finally found it. The second location is in the old Florist Fire and nestled next to local favorites like Tebella Tea Company and Bayou Bodega; Bake’n Babe’s other location is at Armature Works.

“We’re really looking forward to being part of the Davis Islands community,” Curry told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay. “Everyone’s been so nice and supportive so far.”

The menu is still being finalized, according to Curry. But if it’s anything like the location’s Armature Works menu, you can expect over-the-top creations the bakery has come to be known for like the Taiyaki Cone—Curry’s take on the Japanese street food complete with rotating soft serve flavors—or The Works. This fan favorite is piled high with the bakery’s soft-serve and topped with seasonal favorites. And please let there be CBD cookies.

Other recent Bake’N Babes menu items include The July Works—served with a heart-shaped swirl lollipop, cotton candy, a light-up wand, Bomb pop and star sprinkles—and the Stanley Cup creation, complete with a vanilla cupcake, an NHL whistle, a glittering Tampa Bay Lightning cup, blue cotton candy and an oreo ice cream sandwich.

An official opening date hasn’t been announced yet, either, but you can keep an eye out on the concept’s Facebook or by following @bakenbabes on Instagram.
