Tampa’s first Hoots, a wing joint from the folks behind Hooters, is now open in Carrollwood.

The new 1,650 square-foot spot, at 12817 North Dale Mabry in the Mission Bell Plaza, is only the fifth Hoots location to exist, and the second Hoots to open in Tampa Bay. Last year, Florida’s first Hoots opened in St. Petersburg.

Hoots describes itself as “a little bit Hooters, a little bit its own thing,” which basically means there’s a similar menu as its older, pantyhose-based brother, but the staff, (including men) sport khakis and orange shirts.

“Hoots menu offerings include fresh never frozen wings in one of their 11 sauces or rubs, hand breaded jumbo tenders, bigger, better buffalo chicken sandwiches, crab legs, buffalo shrimp, waffle fries and several new dipping sauces,” says the press release.

The new Carrollwood spot is open Sundays through Thursdays from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
