Initially slated for a late 2019 opening, owners of Two Shepherds Taproom Patrick Verdugo and Ross O'Bryan confirmed in an email with CL that the new projected opening date is set for "around April."
Construction has officially begun on Tampa's first indoor/outdoor dog park taking over an acre-worth of land in Drew Park at 4813 N. Grady Ave. near the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ stadium. One of the noteworthy features of the concept, besides the bar, is the indoor air-conditioned dog park complete with house bathrooms. The outdoor dog park will be directly adjacent for those who want a little sun while they sip and watch their pups play.
Feel like this will be your new hangout? Attendees can invest in memberships — day pass, monthly and annual.
If you don't plan on being a regular, owners will be charged per dog, but if you’re coming to hang dogless, you get in free.
When it comes to drinks, in a previous interview Verdugo told CL they want to support local through and through. “We want to boast as much local beer as possible. So we’ll have 16 taps, with the majority of them rotating for the latest pours by Tampa Bay breweries.” Not a brew drinker? There will be a selection of wine to be poured at the ready. Although Two Shepherds Taproom will not host a kitchen, it will have a list of rotating food trucks.
Two Shepherds will be utilizing Gingr, an app that allows you to seamlessly upload your pet’s vaccination records before arriving at the bar. Might want to snag the app now and get all of your information loaded up for the forthcoming debut. Fellow dog bars in Tampa Bay also utilize the app, so no need to take up more storage.
More details to come as construction continues and an official opening date is announced.
