The Pour House's "un-Official Kick Off" to Tampa Bay Beer Week is a return to tradition.

For owner Andy Nietzel, it's his fifth time participating in TBBW, which takes place March 4 to 12, and the third year he's worked with 7venth Sun Brewery. The celebrated Dunedin brewery leads the Channel District bar's annual 40-tap takeover starting at 7 p.m. Friday, alongside a number of Florida's best breweries.

Located in the Grand Central building on Kennedy Boulevard, the Pour House has established itself as a go-to place for beer enthusiasts. The crew has been pouring brews for seven years now, but those who still haven't stopped by shouldn't feel too bad — Nietzel kind of prefers it that way. He's also the kind of owner who "wants you to see my face," as he puts it.

"Because you're coming to drink with me and my family," Nietzel told CL.

During TBBW, that family, in addition to 7venth Sun, includes other much-loved breweries around the state — places like Coppertail, J. Wakefield, Angry Chair and Cycle. Tonight's tap takeover has dedicated 14 taps to 7venth Sun, which, by the way, is more taps than the brewery has in its tasting room; additional locals will occupy the remaining 26 draft lines that'll flow until they kick.
