Another Brazilian-style steakhouse has debuted in Tampa — South Tampa, to be exact. After a successful start in Jacksonville three years ago, Terra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse decided to expand with a second restaurant at 1108 S. Dale Mabry Highway.
Weighing in at 7,000 square feet, the newly opened steakhouse features a full-service bar area with seating, a private dining space, and a main dining room with room for 200 guests. The centerpiece of the dining room, described as spacious and stylish, is a salad and hot bar filled with a curated assortment of cold meats and cheeses, fresh veggies and side dishes.
As a classic churrascaria, Terra Gaucha specializes in grilled meats. Everything — from lamb and beef to pork and poultry, plus seafood — is not only picked and butchered by the steakhouse's gaucho chefs, but also seasoned and roasted with rock sea salt in-house. Dressed in the traditional attire of South American cowboys, servers then roam around the restaurant, carving thin slices of meats off skewers as often as diners request.
A global wine list accompanies specialty cocktails, too — including the caipirinha, a celebrated combination of muddled lime, cane sugar and cachaça.
To start, Terra Gaucha is serving dinner through April 14 (the doors open at 4 p.m.), but lunch service will begin later this month.
