Thanksgiving sips: Classy cocktails to serve with your turkey

Tasty tipples with bourbon, tequila and the exotic Pisco from Peru.

Harvest Moon

1 1/2 parts Tequila Avión Aňejo
1 part Apple Flavored Liquor (can use apple from concentrate as a sub)
1/4 part Pear Juice
Splash of Egg White
Dash of Fresh Lemon
Pinch of Ground Cinnamon

In a shaker add all ingredients over ice then shake and strain. Harvest Moon can be served either straight up or on the rocks and garnish with a thinly sliced pear.

1 oz. of Pisco Portón® (Pisco is a white spirit distilled from grapes and made in Peru; it's more flavorful than vodka and more subtle than tequila.)
1 oz. of Drambuie™
1/4 oz. of Campari™
1/4 oz. lime juice

Combine and chill all ingredients. Serve in a martini glass with an orange wedge and twist of lime.

Pink Passion

2 parts Pisco Portón®
1 part pomegranate juice
1 part tangerine juice
Sugar to taste
Pomegranate seeds for decoration
Ice, as needed

Place the ingredients in a blender filled with ice cubes, and blend until frappe is smooth. Serve in a martini or iced cocktail glass and decorate with pomegranate seeds.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, you're probably busy planning your dinner menus and making your shopping lists. Of course, wine will most likely be on those shopping lists as an adult beverage to be served at your holiday feast, but why not offer another option to your guests?

Cocktails and martinis would make perfect before or after (or during) dinner libations when entertaining company during the holiday season. These tipples listed below are just a few tasty options to try, containing popular spirits like bourbon, tequila and the exotic Pisco from Peru.

Apple Manhattan

2 parts Maker's Mark®
1 part Berentzen® Apple Liqueur

Shake with ice and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a granny smith apple wheel.

Pomegranate Smash

2 parts Maker’s 46™
1 part POM Wonderful® Pomegranate Juice
1/2 part honey
1/2 part fresh squeezed lemon juice
Pomegranate seeds, for garnish

Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Pour over ice into a rocks glass.
