Damn, hotel restaurants are really stepping it up, from TASTE and the Garrison Tavern to the latest concept on the scene, The Spaniard, located within Hotel Alba in downtown Tampa, at 5303 W. Kennedy Blvd. 

Tampa Bay restaurants have cracked the code on what gets customers through the door, good food and better aesthetic, The Spaniard is using the formula, with its succulent wall, hanging light fixtures and clean industrial decor. Not to mention, being able to lounge in the lobby or poolside for prime photoshoot space. 

Now let's talk about food.  

The menu was curated by Executive Chef Brian Agoncillo, with a focus on integrating local ingredients in every dish.

If you’re looking for an elevated selection of dishes for lunch, The Spaniard provides. Tapas range from pork empanadas to tuna tartare, with menu offerings including burgers, sandwiches, soups, and salads with seafood protein like octopus over field greens with apple and almond slices. 

The dinner service has an expanded menu with entrees like seared scallops, swordfish, fat steaks and a Poncho de Pollo dish made up of mojo marinated chicken, tomatoes, onions, peppers, saffron jasmine rice, fried yucca, and black beans.

The restaurant also boasts a lengthy wine selection, with draft and bottled brews at the ready. 

No need to make a reservation, slide in and explore The Spaniard. 

Breakfast is served from 6-11 a.m., lunch is 11 a.m.-4 p.m., and dinner service is 4-10 p.m.
