The Refinery's Greg Baker named a James Beard Foundation Awards semi-finalist

Baker was the only Tampa chef nominated for the 2013 award season. Creative Loafing's David Warner sat down with Baker and his wife and partner Michelle for an interview during Best of the Bay 2012.

The Bakers were featured in our "Power of Two's" edition of Best of the Bay last year.

The James Beard Foundation awards are May 3 and 6 in New York City.

The James Bread Foundation is out with this year's nominees for its highly prestigious awards, and Greg Baker, executive chef/owner of The Refinery and a three-time readers' pick for Best Chef in our annual Best of the Bay issue, has been named a semi-finalist in the Best Chef: South category.

This is Baker's second Best Chef: South nomination (he was nominated last year as well) and The Refinery's third nomination overall (they were nominated in 2011 for Best New Restaurant).
