The Tampa Bay International Curry Festival: Sat., Sept. 17th

Curry cook-off for professionals and amateurs, over 50 vendor booths, a "Curry Girl" pageant and lots of live entertainment.

Since the Tampa Bay area is such a cultural and culinary melting pot, it's only fitting that the first annual Tampa Bay International Curry Festival take place here. This Saturday, September 17, at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center in Tampa, attendees will be able to enjoy the sights and smells of curry cuisine from all over the globe — India, Africa, the Caribbean Islands, Asia, the Middle East and more.

The festival will also showcase a curry cook-off for professionals and amateurs, over 50 vendor booths, a "Curry Girl" pageant and entertainment by Mr. Majestic, Danger Powaz, Sonna Rele, headliner "American Idol" winner Ruben Studdard and many more.

Beer and wine tastings will also be taking place in the VIP tent at the festival. The cost is $15 per person, or 2 for $25, and each participant will receive a commemorative souvenir beer or wine glass. Participants will then have the opportunity to cast their vote for the people's choice for best beer and wine. Register for this event on the festival website.
