This weekend at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival: World market, wine tastings, tattoo and belly dancing competitions and more


  • The World Market: offering ceramics, glass, crocheted and knitted crafts, fresh fruits and vegetables.


  • Wine tastings in the special events field and in Piper's Valley.


  • The Florida State Belly Dance Competition: giving participants the opportunity to dance their way to prizes, with categories for both amateur and professional dancers.


  • 2nd Annual Tattoo Competition: Categories include: Best Pirate Tattoo, Most Colorful, Most Covered and Most Unique


  • Arm wrestling contests: witness the "Southeastern States Arm Wrestling Championship" and the "Florida Power Pull"; Anyone interested in participating in these competitions may register at bayarearenaissancefest.com. (Registration will also be accepted both days of the competition from 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m. with the competition beginning at 2:00pm. Beginners are encouraged to register.)

The 33rd season of the Bay Area Renaissance Festival runs every weekend from Saturday, March 26th, until Sunday, April 17th, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., as well as on Friday, March 11th for schools and senior day, and on St. Patrick’s Day from 5-10 p.m. Admission at the gate is $17.95 for adults, $9.95 for children 5-12, children 4 and under are free.
