Tijuana Flats has implemented its first major menu update in the last five years: Flat Outrageous. This new section of the Florida-born Tex-Mex chain's bill of fare features five dishes, which are meant to push the boundaries of creativity, according to T-Flats CEO Larry Ryback.
And, you know, what better way to get that point across than to put "make your taste buds twerk" in a news release?
"With this new 'Flat Outrageous' section, we are excited to evolve our food, while still maintaining the classic Tijuana Flats menu items that our guests know and love," Ryback said in a statement.
Diners of the fast-casual restaurant choose from three street tacos: baja fish (crispy fish, chipotle crema, shaved cilantro cabbage, pineapple salsa), lime steak (grilled garlic-lime steak, avocado crema, shaved cilantro cabbage, pico de gallo, cotija cheese) or jerk chicken (crispy jerk chicken, MoreFire! hot sauce, shaved cilantro cabbage, pineapple salsa, cotija cheese). Plus, Philly flautas served with queso and Bangin' Chicken Tostadas, an existing dish that's a play on buffalo chicken.
Other menu additions include local craft beer, tailored to each city and restaurant location, and a rotating lemonade flavor that changes with the seasons; pomegranate lemonade is in the spotlight all summer long.
