On tonight's installment of Top Chef Just Desserts, the four remaining pastry chef'testants have to create a dish with international flair for the Elimination Challenge. Each chef gets to choose which country they'll be drawing inspiration from. Sounds easy enough, right? C'mon, this is Top Chef we're talking about here — nothing is that easy this far into the game.
The catch? The chefs must create "desserts in disguise" and make their pastry creations look like savory dishes from the countries they chose (i.e.: make Cuban flan look like a Cuban sandwich). They'll also be judged by "savory chefs" with Cat Cora playing guest judge.
In the preview video below, Orlando lets down his sassy facade and gets candid. He reveals the time he came out to his family (big shocker there), how they rejected him and how his trip to Spain (also the country he chose for the challenge) restored his broken spirit. Now I feel a bit guilty for ragging on him for all these weeks…
After tonight, we'll learn who the lucky chef'testants on the short road to the finale will be! (My bets are on Chris or Matthew taking the win.)
