Oh my goodness, this is it. We're finally down to the finale episode of Top Chef Masters (and I thought it wouldn't come soon enough). The trio of chefs remaining are Susur Lee, Rick Moonen, and Marcus Samuelsson.
The first preview video (below) doesn't really reveal much, it's just an overview of the chefs, their cooking style, etc. If you haven't been watching the show all along, this recap will be helpful, but then again, you're probably not likely to be tuning in tonight anyway. Who misses an entire season of a show and then just watches the finale? Seriously?
The second video tells us what we already know: that Marcus has a huge ego and would love to add to it with the title of Top Chef Master under his belt. The chefs are shown running like mad around the kitchen on the day of the final challenge. Luckily, this challenge doesn't suck. They're given the same task as the chefs in the prior season were given: cook a three-course meal that tells the the story of their lives. I really enjoyed this challenge last season and eagerly await the dishes served tonight, seeing as they're finally allowed to cook from their hearts and souls, and not some crap for another catering gig.
As for my pick for the winner, I honestly can't say. It could go any way during this challenge. The only weaknesses I see are Susur's propensity at doing too much and Marcus being all over the place, being too chaotic with his flavors and plating. If you've been following our podcast, then you already know I'm obviously rooting for Rick.
