Last night's episode of Top Chef Masters brought back six heavy hitters from last season who didn't make it to the finale and were back for redemption: Graham Elliot Bowles, Jonathan Waxman, Ludo Lefebvre, Mark Peel, Rick Moonen and Wylie Dufresne.
The Quickfire challenge was to choose a cocktail from the fruity, girlie ones provided and then create a dish to be paired with it. The judges were non other than some of the Real Housewives of Orange County, who obviously know a lot about food (and even more about girlie cocktails).
For the Elimination Challenge, the chefs had to recreate a popular Irish dish and give it a modern spin. Ludo and Rick Moonen spent almost the entire episode arguing, while Waxman putzed around the kitchen (to victory) and Mark Peel was stuck with a busted oven. Graham — who looks like the kid from Disney's Up — and Wylie — who we found out was a big Star Wars nerd (go figure) — cared more about beating each other than actually winning the challenge.
