This week's episode of Top Chef: Just Desserts' entertainment quotient went up a but, but the bitch factor was significantly higher than last week's installment. Smack talking, sabotage and elbow throwin' — ESCANDALO!
For the Quickfire, the chef'testants were challenged with creating a savory dessert using only one pot (that they were allowed to wash and reuse). Morgan elbowed Heather in the face when they were scrambling for ingredients, starting some bitterness and possible scandal later on.
Yigit's chocolate, bacon and foie gras cremeaux looked like a lump of heaven on a plate, but Zac's steamed beet cake with sweet goat cheese cream & lemon thyme gremolata impressed the judges most, thus earning him the win. When offered the choice between immunity for the Elimination Challenge and $1,000, he greedily asked for $5k then happily kissed the immunity goodbye.
Black and white was the theme for the Elimination as the chefs had to prepare desserts for the LA Times' black and white party. I don't know about black and white, but I saw a lot of brown, ecru and dark purple. No one said they weren't allowed to use black food coloring (though black teeth may not have gone over so well with the guests).
A component of Heather's dish went missing and she automatically blamed Morgan. He got upset and called Team Go Diva "a bunch of backstabbing liars." Burn!
