Urban Comfort kickstarts campaign to build its own shuffleboard courts

St. Pete's soon-to-open Urban Comfort wants to offer shuffleboard, and you can help via Kickstarter.

Urban Brew and BBQ's sibling restaurant and brewery, Urban Comfort — slated to open in June — has started an online Kickstarter project to bring shuffleboard courts to its Grand Central District headquarters.

The Central Avenue brewpub is in build-out mode, and plans to showcase seasonal comfort food offerings, including items like Brussels sprouts gratin, chicken pot pie and bread pudding, as well as signature craft brews and cocktails.

According to Urban Comfort's campaign page, the courts "would only enhance a visitor's experience." Depending on the amount folks pledge toward the project, they could snag T-shirts, complimentary dinners and an invitation to the brewpub's soft opening.

Around 2 p.m. Wednesday, the campaign, which ends Sunday, May 17, had received $683 of its $7,000 goal.
