In the wake of concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, local businesses throughout Tampa Bay are adapting to recent closures and curfews by shortening hours, temporarily closing, or opting for take-out and curbside delivery only.
Vegan bakery Curious Cat is changing its normal business tactics around for the time being, too. It's now focusing on online and pick-up orders, deliveries, and virtual baking lessons.
Usually, customers buy Curious Cat treats at various markets and events throughout Tampa Bay. But this Saturday, March, 21, customers can come pick up cakes and other treats at Curious Cat owner Natalia Lima’s commercial kitchen at 7097 30th Ave N. in St. Petersburg. Lima is offering a limited edition pop-up menu of lemon lavender, salted caramel, and chocolate ganache cake slices, vanilla cupcakes, butter pecan cookies and more.
Order these speciality items for pick-up or delivery on Curious Cat’s website; the pop-up menu is on the home page.
If you prefer to not leave your house at all, Curious Cat is also offering free delivery in St. Pete for orders of $25 or more.
Alongside Lima’s limited edition pop-up menu, she’s also hosting virtual baking lessons via Instagram live at 12:30 p.m. on March 18—for all of her bored, sweet toothed fans practicing social distancing in their homes. She will be going live with Curious Cat baking lessons all this week, so head to her Instagram for updates.
Send Curious Cat’s virtual tip jar a few bucks on Venmo (@curiouscatbakery) if you’re feeling generous.
