The Instagram-worthy chicken and waffle spot Chick’nCone is coming to downtown St. Pete with a grand-opening next week.

Originally set to debut in the ‘Burg before the start of 2020, the fast-casual, on-the-go concept will open its doors Aug. 15 at 425 Central Ave. Chick’nCone is known for its fried chicken, tossed in a variety of sauces ranging from sweet to mild to spicy, and served in a handheld waffle cone.

The grand-opening will offer free chicken samples and $5 Chick’nCones all day, as well as $5 local beers on tap. The spot will have both indoor and outdoor seating and a dog-friendly patio.

Some key menu items include the Traditional BBQ, Cinna-Maple, Kick’n Ranch, Buffalo Blue and Peri Peri, a spicy South African chili sauce. Each cone is $8, another $4 for Cajun fries and $2 for a drink.

“We are a family owned Chicken and Waffle experience unlike anything you've tried before,” the Facebook event page reads. “We're changing the game with the tastiest air-fried chicken inside a freshly made hand rolled waffle cone!”

Chicken lovers can enter to win free Chick’nCones for a month by posting a picture to Instagram with the hashtag “#ChicknconeStPete.”
