Beer and wine drinking, holiday shopping, Repeal Day revelry and quality time with your pooch sum up this weekend breakdown of CL's favorite food and drink events.

At 6 p.m. Friday, sip wine for a cause at Winesmith in downtown St. Pete. The shop will offer wines by the glass, with the proceeds going to Hannah's Homeless. In addition to the vino, Winesmith will host an art show that night, and the works for sale will also benefit the nonprofit. Free, money for goodies. 1620 Central Ave., St. Petersburg, 727-826-0791.

Beers on the Pier will also pour adult beverages to downtown St. Pete at 6 p.m. Friday. Hosted throughout the St. Petersburg Museum of History, guests will sample beer from 20-plus craft breweries around the state and different regions of the U.S. $35 in advance, $45 the day of. 335 Second Ave. NE, St. Petersburg.

Eat (and shop) local this holiday season at downtown St. Pete's December Street Faire. The pup- and kid-friendly faire runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, right outside Green Bench Brewing Co. Expect the Latin Lunchbox and other food purveyors to serve up grub, a pop-up craft beer and beverage bar, crafts for children, and several vendors with handmade wares. Free, money for food and drinks. 1133 Baum Ave. N., St. Petersburg, 727-800-9836.

In Seminole Heights, party like it's 1933 at Southern Brewing & Winemaking between 6 and 11 p.m. Saturday. The event, appropriately titled Repeal of Prohibition Party, will feature a secret beer menu (use the password "all that jazz" to gain access), classic films and dancing in the backroom's speakeasy-style jazz club. Starting at 7, the Roaming Gourmand food truck will also on site with a themed menu, and 1930s attire is strongly suggested. Free, money for beer and food. 4500 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa, 813-238-7800.

Great groovy with Fido at Woofstock from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. The festival at Tampa Heights' Water Works Park will benefit the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, and food trucks, beer and wine are planned. Guests may enter pooches in a hippie-inspired costume contest, or color bandannas at the tie-dye station. A donation at the door comes with one beverage, T-shirt and raffle ticket. $20 suggested donation, money for food and drinks. 1710 N. Highland Ave., Tampa, 813-274-8615.
