Weekend Platter: Local food, Christmas sweaters & more

Three holiday celebrations, a food truck meetup and a regular local vendor showcase for your weekend.

Clearwater's Pair O' Dice Brewing Co. will celebrate the season from 4 to 11 p.m. Friday during its Naughty & Nice Holiday Party. Soul food by Heavy's Food Truck, Pinellas Chocolate Company sweets and craft beer will be offered, including brews like the Hot Cocoa Imperial Stout and Hibiscus Honey Cream. Most of the beer will be available by the glass and in 32-ounce growlers. Free, money for beer and food. 4400 118th Ave. N. #208, Clearwater, 727-255-3423.

Also from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, check out the Food Trucks Around Town rally, hosted the third Friday of the month in downtown St. Pete. The family-friendly event is held at the Port of St. Petersburg and features live tunes, street performers and great grub from local mobile kitchens. Vendors selling items like beef jerky, olive oils and barbecue sauces will also be on site. Free, money for food and drinks. 250 Eighth Ave. SE, St. Petersburg.

Between 2 and 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Locale Market at the Sundial will sample dishes that are included on its holiday meals lineup. The braised Niman Ranch beef short ribs will be among the tastes. Free. 179 Second Ave. N., St. Petersburg, 727-523-6300.

'Tis the season to rock that horrid Christmas sweater hiding in the back of your closet. Prizes will be awarded to the person wearing the ugliest one to Sly Bar's Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. The bar will also host the affair in conjunction with its weekly Kill the Keg event, where $12 gets you unlimited pours until the featured keg is gone. Free, money for drinks. 9 p.m.-3 a.m. 2061 Central Ave., St. Petersburg, 727-800-2971.

Flock to the Indian Shores Sunday Morning Market at 9 a.m. Sunday. At the Indian Shores Town Hall, the farmers' market showcases gourmet foods, crafts and other Bay area-made wares. Leashed pets are welcome, and the event runs rain or shine. Free, money for goodies. 19305 Gulf Blvd., Indian Shores.
